Boris Pasternak was a Russian poet and writer. He is regarded as one of the greatest post-revolutionary poets. His novel Doctor Zhivago was rejected for publication in the Soviet Union and secretly published in Europe, winning the Nobel Prize that he was forced to decline in 1958. His descendants accepted it in his name in 1988.
