Frivolity! Dear sin
sweet companion and enemy!
It’s laughter in my eyes,
it’s the dance in my blood.
It taught me to not keep rings,
no matter who I have married.
To begin at random from the end
and quit before the beginning.
To be like a stem and steel,
in this life where we can so little…
To treat sorrow by chocolate
and laugh to the stranger’s face!
Superficialità! Caro peccato
compagna mia e nemica mia carissima!
Tu versasti il sorriso nei miei occhi,
e la mazurka in tutte le mie vene.
Da te ho imparato a non tener l’anello,
non m’avrebbe la vita presa in sposa!
A cominciare a caso, dalla fine,
e a finire però sempre daccapo.
A essere fuscello, a essere acciaio,
in questa vita, in cui si può sì poco…
A scioglier la tristezza con la cioccolata
e a sorridere in viso a chiunque passa!
