Primo Levi (1919-1987)

Primo Levi is remembered for being a partisan, a Holocaust survivor and a writer. In 1943 he was arrested and deported to the concentration camp of Auschwitz, from which he managed to escaped. His most famous novel (If this is a man, 1947) tells the terrible atrocities seen and suffered. He adheres to Neorealism and his privileged themes are war, social struggles and the life of humble classes.
