Such a day! Alike this beautiful day,
when love, to lose everything, flared up.
Such a day of heavenly charity
when eternity walks in the blue air,
when earth plays and feel younger again,
free from its tiring weight.
It was everywhere as a motherly kiss;
a long dream wandering in an evanescent hour,
hour of birds, of scents, of sun,
forgetting about everything … except from the greatest good! (…)
Such a day! Alike this beautiful day,
when love, to lose everything, flared up.
Fu un giorno! Simile a questo bel giorno,
che l’amore, per perder tutto, divampava.
Era un giorno di divina carità
quando nell’aria azzurra cammina l’eternità,
quando, libera dal suo peso faticoso,
la terra gioca e ridiventa bambina.
Era dappertutto come un materno bacio;
