Eyes staring at me
like the lights of Procida.
Teeth as sea rocks –
on my forehead the waves
of regret, the fateful foam
of reproach.
I ran in the rain
– but I was so far – or
were just the dark pupils
of the night – which
I wheezy discovered.
Gli occhi fissi su di me
come le luci di Procida.
I denti scogli di mare
sulla fronte le onde
del rimpianto, la schiuma
rovinosa del rimprovero.
Sotto la pioggia correvo
ma ero lontano o
erano soltanto le pupille
scure della sera che
rantolando scoprivo.
