A dance by Chopin loudly breaks into the hall,
a wild, riotous dance.
The windows reflect stormy air,
a wilted wreath adorns the piano.
You are the piano, I am the violin,
thus we endless play,
waiting in fear for
the one who’ll first break the spell.
Who’ll be the first to stop in the middle of the rhythm
and push lights away,
 who’ll be the first to answer the question
which cannot be answered.

Una danza di Chopin irrompe nella sala,
una frenetica, scatenata danza,
le finestre riflettono aria di tempesta,
una corona appassita orna il pianoforte.
Il pianoforte tu, il violino io,
così suoniamo e non finiamo mai
ed aspettiamo ansiosi, tu ed io,
chi romperà per primo l’incantesimo.
Chi si fermerà per primo in mezzo al ritmo
e spingerà via da sé i lumi,
e chi per primo farà la domanda
alla quale risposta non c’è.
