This sky made of steel is ours, it doesn’t pretend to be
Eden, it doesn’t allow bewilderment,
this sky is ours and is moral,
it doesn’t promise any escape from the earth,
because truly on the earth
there’s no escape from us into life.
E’ nostro questo cielo d’acciaio che non finge
Eden e non concede smarrimenti,
è nostro ed è morale il cielo
che non promette scampo dalla terra,
proprio perchè sulla terra non c’è
scampo da noi nella vita.
