La speranza che ho sognato era un sogno,
soltanto un sogno, mi risveglio ora,
sconfortata, esausta e vecchia, per un sogno.
Appendo la mia arpa a un albero,
un salice piangente in un lago:
lì appendo l’arpa ammutolita, logora e spaccata,
per un sogno.
Sta’ quieto, sta’ quieto, cuore infranto,
cuore silenzioso, stai quieto e spezzati:
la vita e il mondo sono cambiati, ed io stessa,
