Music of the worms
handles me like a hot fly
as escalators turn into spoons
grandma moses would have wanted it
thus –
early to rise with
tear – stained eyes
let me take you away from all of this:
there is a place behind the hills,
where trees are shaped like
guillotines,
and mandolins have mouths like
broken bottles.
La musica dei vermi
mi agguanta come una
mosca appiccicosa
mentre la scala mobile diventa un cucchiaio
come avrebbe voluto la mia nonnina,
a letto presto con le lacrime agli occhi
lascia che ti porti via da tutto questo:
c’è un posto oltre le colline
dove gli alberi hanno la forma
delle ghigliottine
e i mandolini hanno bocche
come bottiglie rotte.
