When the leaders speak of Peace
the common folk know
that war is coming.
When the leaders curse war
the mobilisation order is already written out.
Those at the top say: peace and war
are of different substance.
War grows out of their peace
like a son out of a mother
he bears
her terrible features.
Their war kills
whatever their peace
has left over.
On the wall was chalked:
They want war.
The man who wrote it
has already fallen.
Quando chi sta in alto parla di pace
la gente comune sa
che ci sarà la guerra.
Quando chi sta in alto maledice la guerra
le cartoline precetto sono già compilate.
Quelli che stanno in alto
si sono riuniti in una stanza.
Uomo che sei per la via
lascia ogni speranza.
I governi
firmano patti di non aggressione.
Piccolo uomo,
firma il tuo testamento.
Sul muro c’era scritto col gesso:
Vogliono la guerra.
Chi l’ha scritto
è già caduto.
