Alexander Pushkin (1799–1837)

Alexander Pushkin was a Russian poet and writer, considered to be the greatest Russian poet and the founder of modern Russian literature. At the age of thirty-eight he was tragically killed in a duel with a man reputed to be his wife’s lover.
